Known as the ‘Love Stone’, rose quartz is a common variety of quartz that is coloured by titanium, iron, and/or manganese impurities.
There is also a rarer variety of pink quartz called crystalline rose quartz where the colouring is caused by trace amounts of phosphate or aluminium.
