About Mandi J Nelson
Mandi trained at Byron Bay Yoga Centre with John Ogilvie as a teacher in the Purna style of yoga (8 limbs) – a hatha based, alignment-focused practice combining breath, meditation, philosophy and asana. She teaches regular ‘sacred fusion’ classes and workshops in Perth & Byron Bay (Australia), Bali (Indonesia) and most recently Siem Reap (Cambodia).

Qualifications includer 200 hours, 500 hours and Certificate IV in yoga asana, meditation, breath and philosophy and Certificate IV Yoga Teaching and ivHDD Chair Yoga, Meditation, Holistic Counsellor,Transition Guide & Deathwalker – Exploring & Embracing Death, Caring and Being with Dying, Ceremony,Ritual & Rite of Passage, Preparation & Advocacy, Funeral Arrangements, Bereavement, Loss & Growth.

She is an integrated yoga teacher meaning she utilises breath, movement, sound, philosophy, aromatherapy and crystals as part of her classes. She is also the founder of Northern Beach Suburbs space for growth & healing ‘8asta’ http://www.8asta.org

Mandi often attends sound healings’, women circles and spiritual advancement groups and maintains a daily yoga and meditation practice.She has practiced many styles of yoga over the many years of practice (1st practice at 8yrs of age)- including iynegar, ashtanga, bikram, vinyasa, yin, kundalini, flow, power and restorative. Her favourite is always “the one she is practicing right now”.

Mandi has had the privilege and honour of filming the elderly and terminally ill for the past 8 years through the ‘cherish process”. This is a beautiful transitional gift to the recipients as well as the participant that truly and profoundly honours and celebrates a persons life.

She also works closely with the local indigenous community who she holds much honour and respect for in her heart. A self-confessed spiritual seeker from childhood, healer & spiritual midwife – working as a facilitator with transitions,meditation, through the eye of a lens with photography & videography, she is also an independent film-maker, website designer and humanitarian, often working voluntarily on projects close to her heart.
