Did you know???? … Men can get breast Cancer

About 1% of all diagnosed breast cancers are in men, which means that up to 30 men a year in New Zealand and 120 men in Australia are diagnosed with what is generally regarded as a woman’s disease.

Unfortunately, when men find a breast lump or a change in their breast tissue, breast cancer is usually not the first thing that they consider, and neither do their doctors.

This means men are often diagnosed later than women with the same symptoms, and some have poorer outcomes as a result.

Men need to be just as vigilant as women regarding the changes to their breast tissue (and elsewhere in their bodies), and get things checked out by a doctor…earlier rather than later.
